Without a proper mindset, it’s common for people to find themselves distracted by daily life. Or, find themselves experiencing ‘Shiny Object Syndrome’ whereby you’re always distracted by the latest and greatest idea, and so you very rarely follow one path through to the end. Sound familiar?
A growth mindset, which results in (shock) personal growth, is essential for the cycle of HEALTH, HAPPINESS, AMBITION and ACHIEVEMENT.
The term “mindset” can be defined as the result of a persons world view or philosophy of life. Possibly more than any other factor, your mindset determines your quality of life and your ability to be successful. And although success can mean something so completely different to each and every one of us, the fundamentals of success are the same for all of us. In that, it is the achievement of our personal desired visions and planned goals.
It’s no secret that us humans have incredible potential to continuously take on and succeed at new challenges. Thinking about it now, there is very little we cannot achieve if we want it bad enough. The key, is that we must want it enough to want to motivate ourselves into taking action. So many people hinder their own personal growth by failing to motivate themselves.
In order to achieve visions and goals, a positive and goal orientated mindset is paramount. Without it, achievements of any kind are virtually impossible. Did you know.. optimism is suggested to be the one quality most closely associated with success and happiness than any other?
Long story short, the things you tell yourself and the things you believe about yourself can either prevent change from happening or allow new ideas to blossom.
Below are a few tips that can help you on your journey to adopting a growth mindset and improved way of thinking:
CHANGE THE WAY YOU TALK TO YOURSELF I.E. STOP THE NEGATIVE TALK IN YOUR HEAD
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO MATCH YOUR DESIRED MINDSET
CREATE YOUR TO-DO LIST FOR THE NEXT DAY, THE NIGHT BEFORE
PRIORITISE YOUR LIST – TACKLE THE MOST DREADED TASK FIRST
BE RESULTS FOCUSED
APPRECIATE THE VALUE OF SMALL CHANGES
Practice these steps to ensure that you are stepping into 2020 with your best foot forward. This month marks the start of a new decade, and so there is quite literally no better time than now to stop fantasising and start working on that new and improved version of you.
